Wildlife
artist B. James "Jim" Jokerst is a life-long naturalist who
makes his home in West Glacier, Montana within sight of Glacier National
Park. Living so close to one of America's grandest national parks gives
him year-round opportunities to observe the area's wildlife while he
hikes, canoes and skis through the park's back country.
With
pastels, pastel pencils and charcoal, Jim captures the beauty and spirit
of the birds and mammals that inhabit this special corner of Montana.
His artwork has been shown and sold in galleries in New York, Denver,
Dallas, Jackson Hole and throughout Montana's Flathead Valley.
Jim
hopes his paintings encourage others to value the grizzlies and black
bears as well as the pileated woodpeckers and pikas who share our world.
He's a graduate of the University of Arizona and a member of the Pastel
Society of America. ---Gail Jokerst
